Lunar New Year "Cherish and Reuse" Day

The Year of the Snake is approaching, everyone is busy cleaning up their homes and offices. We encourage HKU members to cherish resources and reduce waste: repair electrical appliances, donate pre-loved items and recycle to cultivate a green lifestyle in the new year and develop a sustainable campus.

We welcome all HKU members to come and visit this one-day limited “Cherish and Reuse” event, there will be a “Repair Station” for small electrical appliances and a “Collection Station” for specialised items, giving pre-loved items a chance at reuse and starting waste reduction from the source.

Location: Haking Wong Podium (outside Union Restaurant)

Activity Booths:

1.    Small Electrical Appliances Repair Station

·         Maintenance and repairing consultation

·         On-site repairing (pre-registration is needed)

2.    Special Items Collection Station

Welcome to bring the following special items for reuse and recycle:

·         Second-hand spring & summer clothes, bags and shoes

·         X-rays, cosmetics, insulated bags, ice packs, aluminium foil bags (e.g. chip bags) and single use batteries, etc.

·         Please refer to the event page for the registration of the small electrical appliances repairing and the details of the special items collection.

·         This activity is open to all HKU Students and Staff.
